Directions and Road Condition

  • Access Road: Gravel road
  • Closest Town: Opuwo
  • Directions to campsite: The Omarunga Camp can be reached by road via Opuwo, the main centre in Kaokoland. From Opuwo you follow the D 3700 for 105 km north west to Okangwati. At Okongwati you turn off at the sign post. ( Omarunga Camp 75 Km ) and still keep on the D 3700 for 75 Km until you reach Epupa Falls. Signpost at Epupa will lead you to the Omarunga Camp. The road from Opuwo to Okangwati is a big gravel road in an excellent condition. From Okangwati to Epupa falls the road has been build up and gravelled. Omarunga camp can be reached by aero planes of the size Cessna 210 and Cessna Grand Caravan. The runway is gravel and app. 800 meter long.
