Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: Situated on the banks of the Kraai River, Wildside is a haven for people looking to experience nature in a safe and remote environment. The site has stunning views of the river and spectacular sandstone cliffs. The stands are in secluded clearings around a grassy lawn and shade is plentiful. Wildside lives up to its name, and keen birders should look out for our resident Black Eagles, Gymnogene, Bald Ibis and 3 species of kingfisher, just a few feathers away. The variety of habitat on-site includes river, forest, sandstone cliffs, farmlands and grassveld giving sighting opportunities for a wide variety of species. We also have regular sightings of other indigeonous mountain wildlife including buck, baboons and otters. Wake in the morning to the tranquil sounds of bird calls and bubbling river and plan your day. In the evening, light a roaring fire, enjoy a braai and gaze up at stars that look so close that you could touch them.
  • Additional Comments: Campsite on a farm
  • Special rules: Respect others in terms of noise etc. If you want a louder party then sole access of the campsite can be pre-booked.
  • Other: Pioneers camp with no facilities
