Directions to campsite: From Harrismith drive north on the N3 highway for 3km, turn right onto the R722 (Verkykerskop/Memel rd).Drive for 24.7km then turn right onto a gravel road to Normandien. Drive for 11.7km then turn right onto the Collings pass road. Drive for 27.5km and campsite turn off will be on right hand side

Comments, Rules and Notes

Comments: The campsite is situated on a working beef farm in the Harrismith/Verkykerskop district of the Eastern Free State.The campsite is situated next to and around the old farm house. There is a braai area and 2 portable braais.There is a lovely view of the mountain Skeurklip from the campsite.Visitors can hike to the top of the mountain where there are spectacular views at 2364 m above sea level - it is one of the highest peaks in the region. There is a lot of bird life including the Bald Ibis which breed on the farm. A comprehensive bird list is available.The campsite is situated within the Skeurklip conservancy. The area is extremely beautiful, very peaceful and relatively undiscovered.
