  • Directions to campsite: From Mokopane: take the R101 south (Mookgophong) - 18 km from Mokopane the Sterkrivier road turns to the right (sign not very clear so be on the look out). Follow the tar road for approximately 36 km till it ends and then 6 km on the gravel road (the road is bad, drive slowly). The brown wall with Mabote's sign is on the left. Follow the signs to Reception (5km).

  • Comments: The Mabote Mountain camp is situated at the foot of the mountain and has a braaikraal with worktop and tap and also ablution facilities. Guests bring their tent/caravan with light and wood. We light lanterns in the ablution facilities at night. The camp was created in a natural forest with trees cut open for tents and caravans. The camp is situated within walking distance, approximaterly 800 m, from the dam.
