Directions and Road Condition

  • Access Road: Tar road and last 9 km gravel road
  • Closest Town: Thabazimbi
  • Directions to campsite: 1st route: From Pretoria on N4 West. Take turn off for Brits, drive through Brits on R511. Turn 4, 6 km after the "Thabazimbi 30" sign right at the Paddafontein sign. Follow the gravel road for about 8 km to a large silver gate. Go through the gate, turn left immediately and drive next to game fence to the grassland, then to the right up to the office/house. 2nd route: Na to Bela-Bela, through Bela-Bela past the holiday resort, left at the circle on the Thabazimbi/Rooiberg road, right at the T-junction R511 to Thabazimbi. Turn 4, 6 km after the "Thabazimbi 30" sign right at the Paddafontein sign. Follow the gravel road for about 8 km to a large silver gate. Go through the gate, turn left immediately and drive next to game fence to the grassland, then to the right up to the office/house.

Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: No driving on farm in own vehicles, drives can be booked. No firearms/weapons are allowed, hand guns must be declared on arrival. A variety of game can be seen eg. kudu, impala, oryx, blue wildebeest, warthog, aardvark, caracal, tortoise, fish eagle, many birds of prey, owls and other birds.
  • Additional Comments: Bush camp on a game farm
  • Special rules: No loud music, drumming etc. Respect other campers and quiet after 22:00
  • Other: Spitbraai, cast iron pots, braai grills, chairs/tables etc available on request. Freezer facilities available on request.
