Directions and Road Condition

  • Access Road: Gravel road
  • Closest Town: Marulaneng (Hoedspruit)
  • Directions to campsite: From Lydenburg direction take the R36 to Strijdom Tunnel. 25km after the tunnel- towards Hoedspruit ( don't turn north towards Tzaneen)- at the Blyde River bridge, turn right into Driehoek road for 6, 5km and we are on the right. From Orpen gate/ R40 take the Ohrigstad road (R531). Past Kampersrus take the road to Swadini for 5km and then turn right on the Jongmanspruit road for 6, 5km and we are on the left. From Phalaborwa gate take the road to Hoedspruit. Go throught Hoedspruit towards mountains ( R527) for 17km to the Blyde River bridge, and turn left on Driehoek road- as above.

Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: The nature reserve is up on the mountain. The Agricultural section is down near the river with pleasant camp sites- which should not be left unattended. The river site is shady with river activities available- lots of firewood and convenient facilities. The upper campsites are normally near one of the chalets, and are very secure apart from possible baboons.
  • Additional Comments: Campsite on a farm and in a nature reserve- for campervans only.
