  • Directions to campsite: From Ceres set your tripometer and go right through Ceres from the Cape Town side out the other side on the R355 and over the Theronsberg Pass, past the Touws River turn off down through Karoo Poort and into the Ceres – Tankwa Karoo. Stay on this road and about 70km from Ceres or about 30km past the Touws River turn off, you will see the De Vlei sign on your left. Turn left and proceed up a corridor to the gate, about 200 metres off the road.

Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: The campsite is situated in the private nature and game reserve in the riverbed area under Acacia Karoo trees adjacent to various vlei’s and streams which fill up and flow during and after the winter rains. It is hot and dry in summer and the campsite is closed for the months of December, January and February. November and March can still be hot. The campsite is not far from the Tankwa Karoo National Park.
