Comments, Rules and Notes

  • Comments: Bergplaats Game Lodge is situated on 8 500ha of private land on the plains of the Karoo just 80km outside the town of Beaufort West. Set against a mountain backdrop, the farm supports a huge diversity of more than 1 000 plant varieties from South Africa’s various biomes - the distinct ecological communities of plants in a particular climatic area. Animals abound, and there are more than 50 mammal species, over 300 bird species and numerous reptiles and amphibians in this healthy, malaria-free area. The campsite is a new addition to the Bergplaats Game Lodge offering. It is one of the most secluded and exclusive campsites in the central Karoo. Photo's and words cannot justify the magnificence of Duikers Rest. The site is secluded so a minimum stay of at least 2 nights would be recommended. This is perfect for a family getaway weekend or 4x4 groups wanting to explore the Karoo.
  • Additional Comments: Campsite at a private game lodge
  • Special rules: Respect the game and quietness of the Karoo
